Todd attended Miami University at Oxford and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Diplomacy and Foreign Affairs. After his Junior year at Miami, Todd successfully completed Marine Corps Officer Candidate School. Upon graduation, he was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps. Todd has always felt a deep desire to serve others. After his first tour of duty in Okinawa, Japan, Todd earned a Navy Commendation Medal and was one of five Marine Corps Officers nationwide selected to the funded law education program. Todd chose to attend the University of Toledo College of Law. While at Toledo, Todd was an Editor of the Toledo Law Review, and graduated Magna Cum Laude and Order of the Coif.
Following law school, Todd passed the Ohio Bar Examination and was subsequently ordered to Marine Corps Base Hawaii to serve as a Marine Judge Advocate General (JAG) Officer. While serving as a JAG, Todd served as a prosecutor, the Military Justice Officer for Marine Corps Base Hawaii, and later as the Senior Marine Defense Counsel on Marine Corps Base Hawaii.
Following his assignment in Hawaii, Todd was transferred to the Washington Naval Yard in Washington, DC and served as Appellate Defense Counsel practicing before the Navy and Marine Corps Court of Criminal Appeals for his last tour on active duty. Subsequently, Todd was promoted to Major in the Marine Corps Reserve.
Todd returned to Toledo where he became involved in his family’s business, working as Director of Sales and Marketing, Vice President, President and ultimately the Owner of the company. After growing the company and selling it Todd had a deep desire to return to the practice of law.
