Rolfes Henry is proud to announce that the Ohio State Bar Association has certified Matthew F.X. Craven, a Partner in our Cincinnati, Ohio office, as a Specialist in Insurance Coverage Law.
The Ohio State Bar Association certifies attorneys as Specialists in 11 different practice areas, one of which is Insurance Coverage Law. To become a Certified Specialist, an attorney must: 1) demonstrate a high level of substantial involvement in their specialty practice area; 2) fulfill ongoing education requirements; 3) be favorably evaluated by other attorneys and judges familiar with their work; and 4) take and pass an intensive examination. Because of these high standards, a mere two dozen Ohio attorneys have been board-certified in Insurance Coverage Law.
Notably, Matt is the only Certified Specialist in Insurance Coverage Law who is also a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), and he is one of only two Specialists practicing in Southwest Ohio and Kentucky.
Matt is a member of the Firm’s Insurance Coverage Team and one of the top-rated insurance coverage attorneys representing clients in Ohio and Kentucky (he has been recognized in “Super Lawyers” multiple years). He has authored scores of legal opinions for insurance companies analyzing almost every type of insurance policy written as well as worked closely with home office counsel to advise and develop insurance policy language and insurer “best practices” to guard against future litigation.
Matt has also represented insurance companies in hundreds of lawsuits arising out of all manner of claims, with a particular emphasis on breach of contract, bad faith, and declaratory judgment actions. He has extensive litigation, trial, and appellate experience and has served as lead counsel for numerous bench trials, jury trials, and appeals – including a win last year in the Ohio Supreme Court.
Congratulations Matt!
