CHAUNDA “SHAWN” M. BROOKS

Shawn joined Rolfes Henry in 2022 as an Associate Attorney in our Louisiana office. Prior to Rolfes Henry, Shawn worked as in-house counsel for one of the nation’s largest and most prominent insurance companies.

Shawn has successfully handled a significant number of personal injury defense and automobile accident defense cases, as well as civil property disputes and an array of real estate matters. In addition to being licensed to practice in all Louisiana district courts, she is also licensed to practice in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana. Shawn has substantial trial experience and motion practice experience in both state and federal court.

Shawn is a proud Louisiana native. Prior to her career as an attorney, Shawn worked as a T.V. news reporter for a local NBC and Fox affiliate in her hometown. For her undergraduate studies, she attended the University of New Orleans where she majored in History. After working on staff for a prominent New Orleans law firm and being constantly mistaken for a lawyer, Shawn decided it was time to go to law school. She went on to earn her Juris Doctor degree from “THE” Southern University Law Center.

In her free time, Shawn enjoys traveling, working out, watching documentaries, and cooking and eating delicious Cajun and Creole food.
